Cere are some frequently asked questions and answers about having a private cooking event at Generous Servings, but every group is different, and we customize each private event, so please contact us for more information.

Frequently asked questions:

  • What time of day can I have a private event, and how long will it last?

Most events are scheduled for 6:30-9:30 pm. This includes about an hour and a half of cooking, plus time for people to assemble, mingle, and eat the food! Your event can be held whenever the kitchen is not being used for a class or other event, which is most Mondays and Fridays, and any day if scheduled several months in advance.

  • What kind of food will we make?

We have many menus to choose from, from Thai to Indian to Upscale Comfort Food. You'll make a full meal, including a salad, main course, and dessert.

  • What if some people in the group don't like to cook?

We make sure everyone has a good time. There's no pressure for everyone to cook, although most people find that it's more fun than they expected! We make it possible for everyone to be involved at a level they enjoy.

  • Can you provide extra services, such as cheese platters, gifts for the participants, a birthday cake, or café services?

Absolutely! We can provide food for your guests to munch on while everyone arrives, we can arrange for an "open café" so your guests can order any of our café beverages, and we can provide goodie bags with kitchen gadgets or our beautiful aprons so everyone has a memento from your fun event.

  • How many people can participate?

We can accomodate up to 20 participants for a hands-on event. We have a large dining table that we can adjust to fit your group (including a more intimate arrangement for smaller groups), as well as additional space in our cafe for large groups.

  • How much does a private event cost?

Our pricing is based on the number of participants. In general, it costs less per person than a dinner at a nice restaurant, and you'll eat just as well! Plus, you'll be learning great cooking skills and giving back to the community by making extra food to donate. Please contact us for more information.
