Sunday, October 31, 2010, 2:00-5:00 pm Chocolate comes from a tree whose scientific genus name is Theobroma, which translates as "food of the gods". Whether it's a fudgy brownie or an indulgent truffle, anything with chocolate has a magical appeal. However, we've all had disappointing brownies, because chocolate can be a finicky ingredient. In this workshop you'll learn the secrets to how to treat chocolate right and transform it into delicious desserts and treats. We'll taste different types of chocolate, make impressive garnishes, and create lots of desserts you can take home to hoard or share. Come have fun cooking and eating the most wonderful food on earth! Ages 16 and up. Instructor: Mary Sample menu: classic truffles, decadent chocolate marquis, chocolate souffle with berry coulis, chocolate pudding, and all-occasion chocolate cake. |
